BUSINESS VALUATIONS - A FIRST FOR MEDICINE HAT
The changing circumstances affecting business profitability make it increasingly important for southern Alberta businesses to have a clear and authenticated valuation of their businesses.
Medicine Hat businesses now have local access to such services with the opening of a new office in Medicine Hat, specializing in business valuations.
McNally Valuations, which was established in Edmonton in 2002 by a Medicine Hat native, Bob McNally, has now opened a southern Alberta office, based in Medicine Hat. Like its Edmonton parent office, it is the only office in southern Alberta to offer a complete range of business valuation services, covering business valuations, real estate appraisals, machinery and equipment valuations as well as financial and economic assessments.
MVI Valuation Consultant Earns Real Estate Appraisal Designation
MVI is pleased to announce that Matt Tozer, Valuation Consultant, has completed the requirements of the Appraisal Institute of Canada’s accreditation process and thus has been awarded the Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute, Professional Appraiser designation (AACI P.App), the senior designation offered by the institute. In order to receive this designation, Matt followed a program of formal studies and examinations, completed a comprehensive demonstration appraisal report and participated in the Applied Experience Program with an oral examination from professional peers as the final hurdle.
“We are extremely proud of Matt and are happy to celebrate his accomplishment,” stated Chris Perret, AACI, CBV and Partner at MVI. “We continue to support the professional development of our employees in order to provide the highest quality of service to our valued clients.”
MVI now has two AACI appraisers on staff with additional staff working towards their designation. Other staff designations include Chartered Accountant (CA), Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) and Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA). In six short years, MVI has become Alberta’s only full service valuation firm providing quality business, real estate and machinery and equipment valuations to businesses in Western Canada and beyond. They recently opened a Medicine Hat office in order to better serve the needs of its Southern Alberta clients.
MVI ESTABLISHES MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT VALUATION DIVISION
Only Alberta full-spectrum valuation company
EDMONTON, July 10: In only six years, McNally Valuations Inc. (MVI) has grown to be Alberta’s largest and most comprehensive business valuations organization. The latest development is the addition of a Machinery and Equipment Valuation division.
MVI is now the only Alberta valuations firm able to serve all areas of business valuations with in-house staff. The company now provides services in the following areas: Business valuations; Real estate appraisals; Machinery and equipment appraisals; Litigation support; and Financial and economic assessments.
This added service will help the company better meet client needs under the new requirements of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), which are being phased in between now and 2011.
To head up the new division, MVI has recruited Paul Leung, one of only two people in Alberta to hold ASA accreditation for machinery and equipment valuation with the American Society of Appraisers. He has been appointed Vice President, Machinery and Equipment Valuation.
Leung has held his ASA designation since 1997 and has been involved in assessing values of heavy equipment around the world for almost 20 years. A native of Hong Kong, he moved to Canada in 1998 and has been working with a leading valuations company in Saskatoon since that time.
During his career in Hong Kong and Canada, he has worked in a wide variety of industry sectors and undertaken equipment valuations in Europe, United States, Mexico, Jamaica, Bahrain, Indonesia, Australia and Japan. He was one of the first Hong Kong appraisers to perform valuations in mainland China.
As another aspect of MVI’s growth, earlier this year the Edmonton-based company opened an office in Medicine Hat, Alberta to meet increasing needs of clients in southern Alberta.
