Experience:
Chris Perret is a partner of McNally Valuations Inc., an Alberta-based firm that specializes in business valuations, machinery and equipment valuations, real estate appraisals, economic loss calculations in financial litigation matters and financial and economic assessments. Since 1998, Chris has been active in valuation and consulting on a wide range of tangible and intangible assets throughout western Canada and business operations throughout North America.
At the beginning of his Valuation career, Chris worked for a regional real estate appraisal firm where his area of expertise included valuating large industrial and commercial properties, multi-family dwelling projects, residential housing and small businesses. He also consulted on the replacement cost of industrial, commercial and multi-family buildings for insurance purposes, and assisted in the valuation of machinery and equipment assets.
Chris completed his Accredited Appraiser Canadian Institute (AACI) designation in 2002, which allowed him to expand his area of expertise. Since joining McNally, in 2003, he has completed valuations on small and mid-capital businesses in various industries. His valuations on large private and publicly traded companies have included fairness opinions, goodwill impairment tests and purchase price allocations. Chris has appeared as an expert witness at the Municipal Government Board and Assessment Review Board.
Being actively involved in the community as well as professional associations is important to Chris. He is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada (AIC). He became a member of the Standards Committee of the AIC in 2007, and prior to that, he was on the Professional Development Committee for the provincial association of the AIC. Chris also recently volunteered his time to assist community organizations in developing a strategic business plan and was an Advisor for the Junior Achievement Program.
